Frequently asked questions

How many people shop online in Bangladesh?

There is no single official count. Statista forecasts about 12.96 million fashion e-commerce users by 2029, and DataReportal counts 82.8 million internet users in late 2025. Daraz alone reports 8 million monthly active users.

What share of Bangladesh e-commerce is paid by cash on delivery?

PCMI estimates about 75% of volume, with wallets at 11% and cards at 14% combined. Older estimates were above 90%.

How many bKash users are there?

bKash reported over 84 million verified customers in 2026, with 4.20 crore active users in 2025 according to central bank data cited by The Daily Star.

Why do market size figures differ so much?

Definitions differ: B2C only versus total, revenue versus gross merchandise value, and whether Facebook commerce is counted. Always quote the estimator with the number.
