Meet the Menlab Assistant, Your Personal Shopper

Meet the Menlab Assistant, Your Personal Shopper

There is a small yellow circle in the bottom-right corner of menlabclothing.com. Tap it, and you get something most online stores in Bangladesh don't have: a shopping assistant that actually shops with you.

Not a FAQ page in disguise. Not a bot that replies "please contact support" to everything. The Menlab Assistant understands English, Bangla and Banglish, works out what you're actually looking for, and then builds the answer right inside the chat real product cards, a complete outfit you can add to your cart in one tap, a custom combo you assemble yourself with a live running total, and a size finder that gives you a straight answer instead of a chart to decode.

And it calls you boss. Always. In every language.

This is a guide to everything it can do, and how it works underneath.

Where to find it

Everywhere on the store. The chat launcher sits in the bottom-right corner of every page. On desktop it opens as a floating panel; on mobile it takes the full screen and stays aware of your keyboard, so the typing box never disappears behind it.

The header says Menlab Assistant, Available 24/7, and that's literal. It doesn't sleep, it doesn't have office hours, and it doesn't put you in a queue.

We deliberately hide it in a few places, checkout, your cart, the customisation and outfit-builder pages... because when you're mid-purchase, a chat bubble is just something in the way.

On product pages, there's a second door. Every product page carries a small card: Ask Menlab AI about this product, with four buttons: Which size fits me?, Fabric & feel, How to style it, and Ask anything. Tap one and the chat opens already knowing exactly which product you're looking at, with that product's verified details attached. No need to explain yourself.

Type however you type

Bangladeshi shoppers don't type in one language. A single sentence can start in English, switch to Bangla script, and finish in Banglish, and spellings change from person to person. Shada or sada. Sobuj or shobuj. Genji, ganji, tee, t-shirt.

The assistant handles all of it, and not just by hoping the AI figures it out. Bangla script, Latin-script Banglish and English are each recognised separately at every stage - from understanding your message, to searching the catalogue, to writing the reply.

So this:

লাল একটা genji dekhao

reaches exactly the same search as this:

show me a red t-shirt

And the reply comes back in whatever register you used, at whatever level of casualness you used. No forced formal Bangla. No English-only wall.

A few things it knows by heart: dam koto (price), stock ache? (availability), COD ache? (cash on delivery), kon size nibo? (size help), amar order kothay? (order tracking), combo ache? (offers).

What it can actually do

1. Find you products: but only when it knows enough

This is the most opinionated thing about the assistant, and it's deliberate.

If you say something vague like "product dekhao", it does not dump forty items on you. It asks first:

🧑 product dekhao 🤖 Sure boss! 😊 কোন ধরনের খুঁজছেন — t-shirt, polo, নাকি pant? নাকি কোন occasion-এর জন্য? ⌁ Tappable chips: T-Shirts · Combo Offers · Pants · New Arrivals — each showing how many products are actually in it right now.

But the moment you give it something concrete a type, a colour, a style, an occasion, a mood, the weather, a budget it shows you products immediately:

🧑 office e pora jabe emon kichu 🤖 এই polo গুলো office-এর জন্য দারুণ হবে boss 😊 ⌁ Six product cards.

🧑 গরমে comfortable kichu 🤖 Understands Bangladesh's heat and searches for light, breathable cotton.

Every product card shows the square image, the price in taka, the struck-through original price and a discount badge if there's a deal on, a New badge for new arrivals, and a clear Sold out overlay if it's gone. Under the grid you get two reminders, 🚚 Cash on Delivery and ✅ Hand-checked quality, and a See all → button that drops you into the full category on the shop page.

Results are always sorted the sensible way: in stock first, then best match, then best-selling. A sold-out perfect match will never outrank an in-stock good one.

2. Say "not this" and mean it

The assistant listens for disappointment, in all three languages "not this", "don't like", "onno kichu dekhao", "egula valo lage nai", "অন্য কিছু".

🧑 egula valo lage nai, onno kichu dekhao 🤖 No problem boss! Which category would you like to see? 😊T-Shirts · Combo Offers · Pants · New Arrivals with live counts.

Tapping a chip is instant. It doesn't go and think about it; it shows you that category's best-selling in-stock pieces straight away.

3. Build you a whole outfit, and add it in one tap

Ask for a look, or just mention an occasion wedding, biye, Eid, office, interview, date, "ekta look banai dao", "what should I wear" and you get an outfit card instead of a pile of separate products.

🧑 biyer dawat ache, ki porbo? 🤖 Ekta smart look ready kore dilam boss ✨

SMART OFFICE LOOK TOP — Premium Black Polo BOTTOM — Black Formal Pant COMPLETE LOOK · total shown live → 🛍 Add whole look

⌁ Refine: Smart-casual · Formal · Streetwear · Budget-friendly

Each row is a real, in-stock product, labelled by its role in the look, and links straight to its page. Don't want one piece? Tap the ✕ on that row and the total updates instantly. Happy with it? Add whole look puts every remaining item in your cart at once and opens the cart for you.

One rule we built in: if it can't fill at least two slots with genuinely available products, it doesn't show the card at all. A half-broken outfit is worse than no outfit.

4. Ready-made combos, filtered to your budget

Menlab sells pre-built combo offers, and the assistant is good at finding the right one for what you want to spend. It understands budgets the way people actually write them:

You typeIt understands
combo under 1000up to ৳1,000
1000 er moddheup to ৳1,000
1500 theke 2500between ৳1,500 and ৳2,500
2000+ / 2000 er beshi৳2,000 and above
best valueno limit — show me the good stuff
just 1200up to ৳1,200

🧑 combo under 1000 🤖 Here are some great combos under ৳1000, boss 😊

If nothing in the combo range fits your budget, it doesn't show you an empty screen: it quietly switches to the best individual pieces you can get for that money, most valuable first.

5. Build your own combo, step by step

Different from the ready-made ones. Say "nijer combo banabo", "make my own combo", or "custom combo within 2000", and a two-step builder opens inside the chat.

🧑 2000 er moddhe nijer combo banate chai 🤖 Let's build your combo under ৳2,000, boss! 😊 Pick the items you want below — I'll keep a running total.

Step 1 —> Pick. A grid of suggestions appears with your budget printed in the corner. Tap the ones you want; selected items get a ring and a ✓. At the bottom, live: "3 items selected · Total ৳1,740". The total turns red the second you go over budget. The button stays locked until you've picked at least two, then becomes Review my combo →.

Step 2 —> Review. Your picks in a clean list, each with a ✕ to remove. If you're over, it tells you exactly by how much: "৳240 over your ৳2,000 budget — remove an item to fit." When it fits, 🛒 Add combo to cart adds everything at once and confirms: "Combo added — 3 items · ৳1,740".

No surprises at checkout. It tells you before the cart does.

6. Your size a real answer, not a chart

This is the part we're most careful about, and the part most shoppers use first.

The promise we make: every size answer is a close estimate, not a guarantee. We will never tell you a fit is certain, because nobody honestly can.

There are two ways to get one.

If you just ask, cold "amar kon size hobe?" a Find your size card opens in the chat:

  1. Which product is it for? — search or pick from the best-sellers. Sizing is per product, so this matters.
  2. Height —> feet and inches dropdowns.
  3. Weight —> in kg.
  4. Fit —> Regular or Loose / oversized.

Tap Find my size and you get:

Your recommended size L In stock: a close estimate, not a guarantee. [ View product → ]

The answer is worked out instantly, in your browser, with no guessing involved. It reads that specific product's own size list, works out whether it's a letter scale (tops: S–XXL) or a waist scale (pants: 28–38), and calculates from there weight for tops, build for pants, with adjustments if you're notably tall or short, and a step up if you chose loose.

Two details worth knowing:

  • It only recommends sizes that product actually sells. If the maths says XS but the product starts at S, you get S never a dead end.
  • It checks stock. If your size is sold out on that piece, it says so plainly rather than sending you to a disappointment.

If you're already on a product page, tap Which size fits me? and skip the form entirely, the assistant already has that product's measurements in hand:

🧑 Which size will fit me, boss? 🤖 Boss, height ar weight ta bolun tahole exact size ta bole dite parbo 😊 🧑 5'9, 72 kg 🤖 Boss, apnar jonno L best hobe chest-e apnar build-e comfortable regular fit dibe. Close estimate, guarantee na! oversized look chaile XL nite paren 🖤

It asks for the one thing it's missing and nothing more, then answers. It won't bounce you to a chart when it already has the numbers.

One thing it won't do: reflexively tell you to size up. On our oversized cuts, your normal size is the oversized look: that's how they're designed.

(The Find your size tool on product pages runs on exactly the same maths, so the chat and the product page can never give you two different answers.)

7. Compare two pieces

🧑 acid wash tee vs oversized tee, difference ki?

You get a written comparison fabric feel, fit, weight, comfort, when to wear which, and the two products rendered side by side underneath, so you can look while you read. It sticks to what it genuinely knows and won't fabricate technical numbers to sound impressive.

8. Find a gift, one question at a time

Gift shopping is a conversation, so the assistant treats it like one. It asks one thing per message, with tappable answers, so you can finish the whole thing without typing:

🧑 bondhur jonno gift kinbo 🤖 Great choice, boss! 🎁 Who's it for, and what's the occasion?For a friend 🎁 · For him · Birthday · Eid

🧑 (taps "For a friend 🎁") 🤖 Nice! What's your budget, boss?Under ৳1000 · ৳1000–2000 · ৳2000+ · Best value

🧑 (taps "Under ৳1000") 🤖 Here are some great combos under ৳1000, boss 😊 ⌁ Real products, in stock, in budget.

Three taps, no typing, done. And once it knows your budget, it's not allowed to ask you another question it has to show you options.

9. Talk to it like a person

It isn't a FAQ bot, and it doesn't behave like one. Say hello, tell it you're bored, crack a joke, complain — it replies warmly, in one line, then gently gets back to helping. It's not allowed to say "I can't answer that" or "I don't understand", and it's not allowed to go quiet.

🧑 hi 🤖 Walaikum assalam boss! 🖤 ki khujchhen aajke — t-shirt, polo, naki pant? Naki kono occasion-er jonno?

🧑 boring lagche 🤖 Boss, boring লাগছে? চলুন একটা fresh look বেছে দেই 😊 casual নাকি smart-casual চান?

🧑 tumi ki bot? 🤖 Ami Menlab-er shopping assistant boss 😊 apnake perfect pick khuje dite ekhane. Bolun, ki khujchhen?

And if you're rude to it, it takes it in good humour:

🧑 tumi to kichui paro na, faltu bot 🤖 Ahh boss, erokom bolben na 🥺 ami kintu apnar jonnoi ekhane. Bolun, ki khujchhen — t-shirt, polo, naki pant? 😊

It won't argue with you, and it won't lecture you.

10. It remembers the last thing you said

If it asks for your budget and you reply "1500", it knows what that number means. If it asks for your height and you send it, it doesn't start over. Answer a question with a word and the conversation carries on from there.

Change the subject and it drops the old thread completely. And there's a nice touch on product pages: the product context is tied to the page you're on. Walk away from that shirt, and the assistant stops talking about that shirt.

How it works, in plain terms

Here's the design decision the whole thing rests on: the AI never picks the products.

When you send a message, an AI model reads it and decides what you want "this person wants a size", "this person wants a formal outfit", "this person wants combos under ৳2,000". That's all it does. It hands back an instruction, not a shopping page.

Then your own browser, which is already holding the live Menlab catalogue, with real prices, real stock and real photos picks the actual products, matching your words against product names, categories, colours, tags and descriptions, complete with a Banglish synonym dictionary (lal → red, kalo → black, genji → t-shirt).

That split matters more than it sounds. Because the model never touches the catalogue, it structurally cannot invent a product, a price, or a stock status. Everything you see on a card is real inventory as of that second. And because the matching happens on your device, results appear instantly with no extra loading.

There's a layer in front of the AI, too. Our team teaches the assistant verified answers to real questions delivery, payment, returns, policies. When you ask one of those, the assistant recognises it and gives you the approved answer word for word, without involving AI at all. So "delivery charge koto?" can never drift, get creative, or get it wrong.

And there's a layer behind the AI. If the AI is slow, unreachable, or switched off entirely, the assistant still answers a full set of built-in rules takes over that can still find products, build outfits, open the combo builder and calculate your size. There is no state where you hit a dead end or see a raw error. Worst case, you get a friendly message and our WhatsApp link.

It gets better every week

Every question the assistant can't usefully answer gets logged anonymously, just the question. That list is our to-do list.

Our team reads it, writes a proper verified answer, and adds it to the assistant's knowledge. From that moment on, anyone asking that question gets the correct answer instantly, word for word, forever.

So the assistant isn't improving by guessing better. It's improving because real people who know the real answers keep teaching it.

Getting the most out of it

  • Be a little specific and it'll skip the questions. "black oversized tee under 1000" gets you products in one message.
  • Just say the occasion. "biye", "office", "Eid" — it'll build the whole look.
  • Use the buttons. Every tappable chip is a shortcut; you can shop an entire gift without typing.
  • Ask from the product page when you have a question about a specific piece — it'll already have the details.
  • For sizing, have your height and weight ready. Two numbers, one answer.
  • Type in whatever language is comfortable. Genuinely — it's built for it.

And when you want a human

The assistant is good, but it isn't the whole company. Our team is here 10 AM – 9 PM daily:

Why we built it

Menlab Clothing is run out of a studio in Mohammadpur, Dhaka, by two founders who are software engineers by profession: Asfak Ahmed and Mahadi Ahmed. There's no showroom. Every product is photographed in-house from real inventory and hand-checked before it ships, which is where "what you see is what ships" comes from.

The assistant is the same idea, applied to buying instead of making. Without a showroom, there's no one to ask "will this fit me?" or "what goes with this?" So we built someone to ask - available at 2 AM, fluent in the way you actually type, and honest enough to say close estimate, not a guarantee.

Open the chat and say hi. It's expecting you, boss. 🖤

Dress Better, Feel Better.
